At the Tokyo Whisky & Spirits Competition (TWSC) 2022, held from February till May, Sato no Akebono Gold was entered into the Hall of Fame (Three-Time Winner List), Sumi no Ye Aged 30 Years, which uses art by Tanaka Isson on the label, won a Design Award, and Sato no Akebono won a Gold Award.

TWSC is an international distilled liquor competition held in Tokyo. In 2022, 4 new awards were given, including the Shochu Hall of Fame and the Design Award.

In this year’s shochu category 281 products were entered, continuing a rise in contestants, into what is regarded as the biggest competition in Japan.

During this year’s contest, Sato no Akebono Gold won a gold award, bringing its streak of winning a gold medal or better to 3 years. Having won a gold or better award the first 3 years of the competition, Sato no Akebono Gold was inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Using Tanaka Isson’s masterpiece [Sago Palm and Screw Pine by the Sea of Amami] as the entire label and a simple white box to produce a dignified appearance, Sumi no Ye Aged 30 Years won a design award.

All the employees are very pleased that the quality of the shochu and packaging were highly thought of by the professionals who evaluate Western liquor. We continue to strive to make kokuto shochu that will be recognized throughout the world.

【About the Tokyo Whisky & Spirits Competition】

This year’s TWSC was the fourth holding of Asia’s largest distilled liquor competition. In the 2022 shochu division, over 80 judges performed the evaluation.
