An Easy Set to Enjoy Alongside Isson Tanaka's Paintings
To mark the 110th anniversary of Isson Tanaka's birth, we have put our masterpiece label series into 100 mL bottles that are easy to enjoy. Alongside two of his best-loved works, taste two characters side by side: Amami no Mori, richly fragrant in the way that only spirit aged a full three years can be, and Isson, light on the palate with a firm oak cask character.
Isson Tanaka, the Solitary Painter Who Loved Amami
Isson Tanaka moved to Amami in his fifties and lived, painted and died there.
Isson was born in Tochigi Prefecture in 1908. The year 2018 marked the 110th anniversary of his birth, and exhibitions were held across Japan.
The abundant nature, the creatures and the landscapes of the island that he rendered through his singular vision continue to captivate people to this day.
The Fruity Aroma of Brown Sugar, and the Sweet, Refined Cask Aroma of Vanilla
Mix Isson with sparkling water and the vanilla-like flavor and aroma drawn from the oak cask come through vividly; with Amami no Mori, it is the crispness and the bright aroma that fill the palate all the more clearly.
