At the 2021 International Wine and Spirits Competition (IWSC) held in June, “Sato no Akebono Genshu” won a gold award and “Sato no Akebono Gold” won a bronze award.
Founded in 1969 and held annually in London, England, IWSC is the world’s premier international liquor competition, where alcoholic beverages from around the world are evaluated by experts. In the 2021 “Asian Spirits” category, consisting of Baiju, Shochu, and Soju, 240 brands were entered into the competition.
After winning a gold award at the recent “2021 Tokyo Whiskey & Spirits Competition,” “Sato no Akebono Genshu” continues its success in becoming a brand well regarded by both domestic and international professionals. All the employees are very pleased that our Amami kokuto shochu was thought of highly during the professional’s evaluation. We continue to strive to make kokuto shochu that will be recognized throughout the world.

“Sato no Akebono Genshu’s” tasting notes as provided by the 2021 IWSC judges:
Pronounced florals are abundant with fresh cut grass, capsicum, rosemary and sage aromas, creating an enjoyable liveliness. Beautiful on the palate as an underlying chocolate and candy base is embellished with crushed rose petals and melon into a white grape finish.
