A Drop That Carries the Spirit Forward
Spirit matured slowly in tank for more than ten years is given a further four years and more in richly peated American oak casks, then blended with spirit aged over ten years from atmospheric distillation. The moment it touches the palate, the smoke drawn from the peat and the refined sweetness of brown sugar meet in exquisite balance, weaving deep layers of aroma. The mellowness of well-aged spirit, joined by that refined brown sugar sweetness, has given rise to a brown sugar shochu with a character quite unlike anything before it.
The Look That Tells the Story of Kiryu
The logo takes the flow of water and a dragon ascending to the heavens as its motifs, rendered in an original typeface based on semi-cursive script. The symbol mark carries our wish for the connection between everyone involved with Kiryu, and for its history to be spun on into the future: it shows a prayer, born of the pure water of Tatsugo, rising as a dragon into the sky and taking flight across the world. The bottle is our own original design, its elegant curves expressing a "drop of Amami," and its deep crimson finish makes that world all the more striking.
For the Hours That Matter to You
Afternoon light at the window. Hold up the deep crimson bottle and, through the clear red, the passion of that "drop of Amami" glints back at you. Pour a little into the glass and what rises is the deep smoke raised in peated casks. With every breath, the ease of the moment spreads a little further. Roll it slowly over the tongue, then let that drop go down as though reluctant to part with it. A glass with nothing added, nothing dressed up. What arrives is a moment of quiet bliss that needs no words.
