The Island Shochu Local People Have Long Loved
Using two and a half times as much brown sugar as rice koji draws out the savory depth native to the brown sugar. Atmospheric distillation keeps the aromatic compounds born of maturation firmly intact. Its appeal lies in a richness reminiscent of fully ripe fruit and a lingering, full-bodied sweet aroma. Served with hot water, the oils blend into the water and the aroma lifts further still.
Zuisho, a Sign of Good Fortune
Zuisho is an old word for an omen or a favorable sign that heralds a happy event. The savory depth patiently drawn from the brown sugar, and the rich aroma that maturation brings: we likened the small happiness held in a single glass to just such a good omen.
To sit alongside the talk around the table, or the quiet moment at the end of the day, and to carry a small joy and a little richness into everyday life. We named this bottling in the hope that it might be exactly that.
Packaging Designed with the Environment in Mind
We support the aims of the SDGs and are working toward products that reduce the burden on the environment. Across all of our carton products we have done away with the plastic film outer wrap and adopted a recyclable barrier film for the carton material, moving away from the conventional aluminum foil. Through work of this kind we aim to contribute to a circular society and to building a sustainable future.
